What does No-Dial & Auto-Dial mean? These phones are often referred to with a wide range of confusing names such as: non-dial, dial-less, direct-dial, blank dial, etc. All you'll need to know when purchasing is:
A No-Dial phone is a regular telephone stripped of its Dial/Keypad. It operates in just the same manner as a regular phone except you're not able to use the keypad to dial out. It most cases it's used for answer only/courtesy (transfer calls to a no-dial phone and you don't have to worry about people making subsequent calls), hook-up to a PBX/Telephone System for Ring-Down or Hotline (Point A to Point B, 2-Way Communication).
An Auto-Dial phone on the other hand comes out of the box with the ability to be programmed and speed dial a single or (in some cases) multiple numbers with the push of a button or when the user lifts the handset (goes "off-hook"). Auto-Dial phones are extremely useful in Emergency applications due to a nervous or incapacitated individual whom cannot remember the correct number to dial.
